About Us
Szeiler Art
Szeiler Art Gallery.

We are Paul and Jill Szeiler , our home is situated on the hillside over looking Loch Broom near Ullapool in the north west Highlands of Scotland.
We both take inspiration from the beautiful and dramatic land around us - our artwork however is particularly concerned with the wild animals that live in this part of Scotland.
Scottish born artist Jill, paints animal studies using gouache, acrylic, watercolour and pastels ; her colourful and dynamic hare paintings are very popular in print form. She says that colour is her 'thing' but she also has a gift for capturing the individuality and life -force of the animals she paints.
Paul sculpts animals in clay - these are one off sculptures that are fired in an electric kiln. Each individual sculpture is created with the intent of doing justice to the wild spirit of the subject. He likes using clay as it allows him to work rapidly and energetically , hence a sense of vitality is retained in the finished piece. (he hopes).
Paul also makes jewellery which includes a range of hand cast lead - free pewter brooches and pendants. These are also themed on the wild creatures of the Highlands .
All our work is produced here on site , if you visit our gallery you are welcome to also see our studios (as long as you don't mind the mess) and see the loch & mountain view and breathe the fresh Highland air !
Our Gallery
We built our gallery 2 years ago to show our work in. It is made almost entirely from materials sourced from our own land.
